Solar Dreams is a short dance film that takes a journey through the mind of a solar physicist using modern dance and NASA solar footage. The dancer uses her body and movement to viscerally consider the fluid motion of solar plasma, exploring Alfvén waves, convection, sunspots, magnetic fields, reconnection and the solar flares themselves. Working from small to large scales, her movements transition from tentative and exploratory to large and confident as the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. The film ends with the dancer basking in the sun, enjoying the birth of a new piece of knowledge.
